Billing

A license for each department team you turn on, plus the model usage its agents consume, metered monthly. Here is how the bill is built, how to keep it predictable, and how to manage the subscription.

Pricing model

Hivemeld bills two things, kept deliberately separate so neither surprises you:

$750/team/mo
Team license

One license per department team you turn on. It covers the agents in that team and the people who work with them — no per-seat charge.

Usage
Metered monthly

The model usage your agents consume while they work, supplied by Hivemeld and metered per action. It scales with the volume you set them.

Current licenses, per team per month:

Hivemeld is in beta: we onboard workspaces in small batches, and billing starts only when your access does — no credit card required to request access. Once open you have full access: create agents, run the onboarding wizard, execute real tasks, and use every integration. See Setup & Onboarding, and the pricing calculator for an estimate at your volumes.

How usage is metered

Agents do the work on their own, so usage follows what they actually did rather than how many people are logged in. Each agent action is metered and attributed to the team that ran it; the model an agent uses sets how much that action costs.

ModelRelative costBest for
HaikulowestHigh-volume, low-complexity work

OpushighestComplex, high-stakes, or nuanced work

Set a default model per agent from its settings, or override it per task. There is no per-seat, per-integration, or per-workspace charge on top of the team licenses — usage is the only variable line.

Budgets and caps

Every account has a monthly usage ceiling, so a runaway loop can never turn into a surprise bill. Once the month's usage reaches it, new agent actions are refused until the next billing cycle or until an approver raises it.

Per-team budgets, an alert into Needs you at 80% of a budget, and a pause at the cap are part of the metering work and are not live yet. The account-wide ceiling above is.

Note
Check where you stand at any time with GET /api/billing/check-limits, or on Dashboard → Usage.

Monitoring spend

Keep usage legible with a few endpoints and dashboard views:

GET /api/billing/usage # this month's actions + cost, broken down by model
GET /api/billing/usage-estimate # projected total for the current billing period
GET /api/billing/check-limits # subscription status, agent count, cap status
GET /api/billing/upcoming-invoice # preview of the next Stripe invoice
GET /api/analytics/export/costs # CSV export of per-action costs for finance

In the app, Dashboard → Usage shows the same picture visually — spend this month, the projection, and the breakdown by model and by day.

Tip
If a bill runs higher than expected, look at which model your busiest agents are on first. Setting throttle_seconds on a noisy agent also caps how fast it can work.

Subscribing & the billing portal

Subscribe from hivemeld.ai/pricing or Dashboard → Settings → Billing. Checkout and card management run through Stripe — Hivemeld never stores card details directly.

Once subscribed, manage the payment method, view past invoices and update billing details from the same Billing page; it opens straight into the Stripe customer portal.

Invoices

Each billing period, the invoice combines the licenses for the teams you have turned on with the metered usage accumulated over the month. Line items are itemized, so licenses and usage read separately — use GET /api/billing/upcoming-invoice to preview the current period before it is finalized.

Canceling

Cancel any time from the billing portal. Agents stop working at the end of the current billing period — you are never charged for a period you did not use. Your data (agents, backlogs, results, wiki, goals, decisions) is retained, so re-subscribing later picks up where you left off.
